Inspired by... Singing in the Rain
Singing in the Rain brings back many memories from childhood. My mom singing and humming to all the classics. My mom loved the movies from her day. Gene Kelly singing and dancing was sheer joy. These were the movies that everyone could watch, nothing but clean cut, G rated entertainment.
My backgrond was done in multiple layers of pencil, watercolours and pastels. I drew my dancer on brown paper that had the musical notes from Singing in the Rain.

Inspired by...
Milliande's Art Community for Women has a new art journal project going. It is called Inspired by... The idea is that we will choose either a famous artist or a contemporary artist whos style catches our eyes to play with in our journals for February. Good, something to get me through another cold month.
The first artist is Joan Miro. He is not my style but it sure was fun. I called my piece Cheerleaders in honor of my granddaughter's team and all their great stunts.
January Art Journal Day 21, 22, 23, 24
These were the last four days of challenge. I made it. Bluebells, which turned out purple instead of blue, but who cares!
My favorite day, which consists of hugging Spencer, going to the beach on a HOT day, and finishing the day with red wine and cheese. What could be better?
Day 23 brought paper poems. Using the color green as inspiration I included a poem about nature by Emily Dickinson.
Day 24 was very cathartic. It was round and round. I included within each tear a message I needed to get out but did not want to vocalize.
Thank you, Milliande, for giving us January Art Journal. It was a very fun and wonderful journey this very cold, snowy January.
